What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Architect position at CXC?
Seeking a hands‑on Senior Cloud Architect to design and support secure, highly available AWS and Azure hybrid cloud environments within a large enterprise/public sector setting. This role focuses on cloud networking, security architecture, hybrid connectivity, Megaport integrations, and endpoint security, working closely with IT teams on mission‑critical systems.
Location: Downey, CA
Type: Contract (12-24 Months)
Work Schedule: M-F 8-5/ Hybrid
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS and Azure networking
- Expertise in hybrid and multi‑cloud connectivity, including Transit Gateway, ExpressRoute, and VPC/VNet peering
- Experience with Megaport (Virtual Cross Connects, private cloud connectivity)
- Deep understanding of cloud network security, firewall deployment, and segmentation strategies
- Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP) and traffic engineering
- Experience deploying and supporting endpoint security platforms
- Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus, Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, OpenVAS, or similar
- Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
- Experience working in large enterprise or public sector environments
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, consulting‑style role
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related or Engineering field
- One or more of the following:
- CISSP (or equivalent)
- CompTIA Security
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Cloud certifications such as:
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
