The MIT/WinClient Touch Services Technician is responsible for sustaining factory computing hardware and supporting physical touch network operations. This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting WinClients, Remote Operations Center workstations, factory network components, and related hardware. The technician will work closely with cross-functional IT teams to ensure reliable factory system performance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair software and hardware issues on factory computing equipment at the system, module, and component levels.
- Collaborate with IT Networks, Windows teams, GOS Service Desk, and Process Integration specialists to resolve complex issues.
- Support parts management, including ordering, forecasting, inventory control, and proper disposal of used equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and software/hardware specialists.
Server Install Support
- Mount servers into datacenter racks.
- Connect network cabling and configure iLO following provided documentation.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and patching of servers and clients.
Network Physical Touch Support
- Provide onsite Smart Hands support for incidents and service requests.
- Assist remote L2/L3 teams with hardware replacements, cabling fixes, and outage recovery.
- Support datacenter teams with daily infrastructure tasks and new equipment landings.
- Perform rack-and-stack installations, cable management, and cabling removal.
- Install and manage network components such as TOR switches, cable trays, and related infrastructure.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of technical work experience preferred.
- Experience with Windows imaging and intermediate Windows OS troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and work in positions requiring walking, sitting, standing, crawling, or kneeling.
- Ability to work in hot, enclosed environments for short durations (e.g., datacenter hot aisles).
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Ability to work independently or in teams of 3–4.
- Cleanroom experience recommended.
- Strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows 10/11.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and ability to prioritize multiple issues.
Education
- Associate degree or certification in a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Additional technical certifications are a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
