Job Title: P&O Generalist (Human Resources Generalist)
Location: Shelton, CT (Onsite)

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced P&O Generalist to join their Human Resources team and support employees across multiple Northeast locations. This role serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees while managing employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, investigations, performance management, and HR operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, blue-collar environment supporting operations, warehouse, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and union benefit plans
- Support annual open enrollment activities and employee benefit communications
- Serve as a primary resource for employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Advise managers on disciplinary actions, performance management, employment policies, and compliance matters
- Conduct employee complaint investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
- Assist with onboarding, orientations, and integration of newly hired employees
- Support recruitment activities, interviewing, background checks, and candidate evaluations
- Maintain HRIS records and generate HR reports and analytics
- Partner with leadership to identify training and development opportunities
- Assist with unemployment claims and related documentation
- Conduct HR training sessions and support leadership development initiatives
- Travel regularly to regional locations to support employees and management teams
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent HR experience)
- 2 years of Human Resources Generalist experience
- Strong experience with:
- Employee Relations
- Workplace Investigations
- Benefits Administration
- HR Compliance
- Performance Management
- Experience supporting hourly and blue-collar workforces
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred
- Experience within logistics, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments
- Experience supporting multi-site operations across multiple states
- ADP Workforce Now experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
- Spanish bilingual skills

They are comfortable supporting managers and employees in operational environments, conducting investigations, analyzing HR data, and ensuring compliance while serving as a trusted HR partner across multiple locations.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
