Position Overview
A well-established law firm in Nassau County, Long Island is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its growing practice. The role involves handling a variety of litigation matters, including case strategy, motion practice, court appearances, client representation, and overall case management.
The firm is open to attorneys with varying levels of experience who are capable of handling matters independently and providing strong client service.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal correspondence
• Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
• Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedures
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff on active litigation matters
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the New York State Bar
• Prior litigation experience preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage cases independently and work directly with clients
• Courtroom and motion practice experience preferred
