Surgery Scheduler

• Schedule surgical procedures for podiatry patients in coordination with physicians, surgical facilities, and patients
• Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures
• Communicate pre-operative instructions, including fasting, medication adjustments, and arrival times
• Coordinate with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and anesthesia providers to secure operating room availability
• Ensure all required documentation (consents, labs, imaging, medical clearances) is completed prior to surgery
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding surgery-related questions and updates
• Follow up with patients regarding scheduling changes, cancellations, or rescheduling needs
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of care and timely communication
• Assist with post-operative scheduling, including follow-up appointments
• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical scheduling experience preferred 
• Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to podiatry procedures, preferred
• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations
• Proficiency with EMR systems and scheduling software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
