Radiology Technologist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform CT and diagnostic X-ray procedures according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.

• Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

• Operate and maintain CT scanners and X-ray equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and facility protocols.

• Verify patient identity, review physician orders, and obtain relevant medical history prior to imaging procedures.

• Administer contrast materials when required, in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.

• Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions or complications.

• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and utilize appropriate shielding to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.

• Review images for quality and accuracy before submitting them to the radiologist for interpretation.

• Document procedures, patient information, and imaging results accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

• Maintain imaging equipment and report malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.

• Follow infection control and safety protocols in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure efficient patient care.

• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Associate’s degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or a related field.

• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R); CT certification (ARRT-CT) preferred or required.

• Valid California Radiologic Technologist license issued by the California Department of Public Health Radiologic Health Branch.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
