Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Sr. Structural Engineer to join their client's team in New York. This exciting opportunity is with a renowned company in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering. This role offers a unique chance to work on projects requiring a broad and deep knowledge of structural engineering and to report directly to the Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION:
As a Sr. Structural Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Perform tasks on projects requiring a broad and/or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering.
- Conduct structural analysis and design, including but not limited to reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design and timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan/rigging, bridge deck, etc.
- Implement design and ensure conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare and review calculations for analysis along with preparing engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals.
- Prepare working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an accredited institution and 10 or more years of relevant experience. Bridge experience required. A Master's degree focused on structural engineering is preferred.
- PE license (NY or NJ) required, NY is preferred.
- Proficient in using Structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISA.
- Proficient working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad.
- Proficient working knowledge, understanding, and application of critical industry accepted codes; IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS.
- Maintain membership in industry organizations (AISC, AWI, RCSC) and continued professional development for PE License.
- Must have the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
- Experience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area preferred.
Required Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary of $178,000 - $218,000 depending on experience, along with an opportunity to work on exciting projects in a vibrant location.
