A national membership-based organization is seeking an experienced Director of Meetings & Events to lead planning and execution for its annual conference and year-round event portfolio. This role oversees event strategy, logistics, vendor coordination, budgeting, and on-site management, while partnering closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning and logistics for conferences, meetings, and special events from concept through completion.Oversee registration, housing, speaker coordination, scheduling, and on-site operations.Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.Develop and monitor event budgets, track expenses, and handle post-event reconciliation.Support event marketing needs and collaborate with internal teams on materials, agendas, and attendee communications.Provide guidance and mentorship to team members involved in event delivery.Prepare post-event reports and recommend improvements for future programs.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field.Experience planning and managing meetings or conferences within an association, nonprofit, or similar environment.Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with event management tools is a plus.Ability to travel for events as needed.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds during event setup.Work EnvironmentHybrid schedule; travel required for major events.Fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teamwork.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
