Accounts Receivable Accountant
Pay: $35–$37/hour
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid – will go remote after 1st month)
Duration: 1-year contract (with potential extension or conversion)
Position Overview
On behalf of our client, a public utility client, we are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to support an Accounts Receivable team within a large, established energy company serving Southern California. This role will focus on processing and managing damage claims related to company assets, requiring strong accounting fundamentals and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts receivable transactions related to damage claims
- Prepare and issue invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Review and reconcile AR accounts and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper documentation
- Maintain accurate financial records and support reporting activities
- Utilize SAP and Excel to track, analyze, and manage financial data
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- (or 4–5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with SAP (multiple modules preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume work
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification
- Experience in the utilities or energy industry
- Exposure to invoicing, claims processing, or asset-related accounting
