Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a busy and respected plaintiff’s catastrophic injury law firm in Center City, Philadelphia to find an experienced Legal Assistant. This position will support a shareholder who specializes in personal injury litigation, product liability, and medical malpractice cases, working closely with both the attorney and their paralegal. The firm is seeking a direct hire but is open to a temporary arrangement for the right candidate. This is a fully on-site role with an immediate start.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Legal Assistant with 5 years of experience to assist during all phases of the litigation process, including legal intake, document preparation, calendaring court events, and managing filings. Knowledge of Philadelphia court rules and filing procedures is essential; experience with New Jersey filing is a plus. This is a high-energy, mission-driven team dedicated to providing strong legal representation to clients who are seriously injured and deeply in need of advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial client intakes and assist with investigations and case assessments
- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and all court-related documents in accordance with PA (and optionally NJ) court procedures
- Keep all court dates, statutes, and appointments accurately calendared
- Maintain, organize, and index legal files and records
- Gather and organize medical records for review and downloading
- Provide trial preparation support and act as an integral member of a small litigation team
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in litigation
- Familiarity with PA and Philadelphia court rules is required; NJ experience is a strong plus
- Extensive understanding of service procedures, motions, discovery, and trial documentation
- Proficiency in case management systems and legal software
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and a dependable team player
- Dictaphone experience is a plus
