Family Law Legal Assistant
Basking Ridge, NJ | Onsite (2 Days Per Week) | Part-Time
Compensation: $30–$35/hour
Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a respected family law practice in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, in the search for a Part-Time Legal Assistant. This opportunity is open due to the retirement of a long-tenured employee and offers the chance to join a stable, collaborative team supporting a busy family law practice.
This role is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys client interaction, managing case files, and providing administrative support in a fast-paced legal environment.
What You'll Do:
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling family law matters
- Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and court filings
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and client appointments
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Track deadlines and assist with case management activities
- Coordinate document collection and file maintenance
- Handle general office and administrative tasks as needed

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations
- Work is generally performed sitting, talking, hearing, and typing
- This is a high-volume screen-based role, requiring constant, prolonged computer usage, including but not limited to: reviewing documents, managing visual content, and attending virtual meetings
- Visual acuity required for computer use, data analysis, and extended reading
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and document handling
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift and carry items weighting up to 30 pounds
