Trust & Estate / Tax Paralegal – Princeton or Florham Park, NJ (Hybrid)
A top-tier national law firm is seeking an experienced Trust & Estate / Tax Paralegal to join its team in Princeton or Florham Park, NJ. This role supports a sophisticated trusts and estates practice and offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and clients on complex estate administration matters.
💼 Hybrid Schedule (Flex day after 90 days)
💰 Salary: $83,000 – $97,500
Position Overview
This is a client-facing role ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will support attorneys in all aspects of estate and trust administration from inception through completion.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and beneficiaries
- Assist attorneys with drafting estate and trust-related documents
- Collect, analyze, and organize financial records (tax returns, trusts, deeds, financial statements)
- Support asset valuation and estate administration processes
- Prepare executor and trustee qualification documents
- Draft and file estate accountings, inventories, and settlement documentation
- Prepare and file state inheritance, federal estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns
- Coordinate estate and trust distributions and funding transfers
- Assist with audits and post-mortem estate planning, including disclaimer documents
- Collaborate with financial institutions and professionals to obtain and analyze due diligence materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; paralegal certificate preferred
- 5 years of Trusts & Estates experience (NJ experience strongly preferred)
- Trust & Estate and/or Tax experience is REQUIRED
- Experience preparing estate, inheritance, gift, and fiduciary tax returns
- Familiarity with software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem, OneSource, NumberCruncher, Tiger Tables, Zcalc, EstatVal (preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills
- Experience tracking and entering billable time is a plus
