Senior Accountant

Our client is a fast-growing, innovative company located in downtown Chicago looking to add a Senior Accountant to their expanding finance team. This role will play a critical part in supporting the monthly close process and a variety of accounting functions while partnering cross-functionally with leadership in a collaborative, high-energy environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis related to compensation and employee benefit programs
• Analyze account activity, variances, and trends to support financial reporting and business decisions
• Partner cross-functionally with HR, FP&A, and Accounting teams on company-wide initiatives
• Assist with U.S. GAAP compliance, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives
• Support special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA-track preferred
• 2 years of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting concepts
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
