A growing industrial services company in the Milwaukee area is seeking a temp to hire Business Unit Accountant to support the financial operations of one or more business units. This role will partner closely with operations leadership and assist with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and project-related accounting activities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes and multiple systems. Experience within construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based environments is highly preferred, but not required.

- Comp: $70,000-75,000
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned business units
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Review project/job costing and help ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition
- Partner with operational leaders to analyze financial performance and improve reporting visibility
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with AP, AR, payroll, and cash-related accounting tasks as needed
- Support audit requests and maintain accurate financial documentation
- Help drive process improvements and efficiencies across accounting functions
- Work within ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), and/or Acumatica
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based accounting environments is a plus
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Great Plains/Dynamics GP, or Acumatica preferred
- Strong Excel skills including reconciliations, formulas, and data analysis
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Self-starter mentality with willingness to support a variety of accounting functions
Preferred Experience
- Job costing or percentage-of-completion accounting exposure
- Multi-entity or business unit accounting experience
- Experience supporting operational leaders with financial reporting and analysis
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
