Our client is a privately held, family-owned company in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin looking for a Director of Accounting. This company is looking for someone with a CPA, a strong background in cost accounting and inventory management, and 15 years of experience in Accounting. The Director of Accounting serves as a key member of the finance leadership team and plays a critical role in maintaining the Company’s financial integrity and operational excellence. The company is a family-friendly, employee-oriented organization centered on growth, innovation, and customer service. This position is an on-site role.
The Director of Accounting will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team.
•Provides leadership and mentoring to the Accounting leadership team and staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
•Analyzes financial data for patterns, trends, and anomalies, and recommends corrective action as necessary.
•Provides technical accounting guidance to the team during month-end and year-end closes as well as the annual external audit.
•Develops organizational strategies by communicating accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations, and aligning functional objectives with Company-wide objectives.
•Partners with other functions in the Finance group as well as across the Company to protect and improve Company profitability and enhance processes and internal controls.
The Director of Accounting will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
•15 years of experience in Accounting, 10 years in management roles.
•CPA required.
•Strong background in cost accounting and inventory management.
•Proven leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
•Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and applicable accounting regulations.
