Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift

Compensation: $17–$19/hour DOE | Temp-to-Hire

Position Summary

Trinity Employment Specialists is seeking a dependable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join a busy and growing medical practice in Tulsa. The ideal candidate will have excellent patient care skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position offers the opportunity to become a permanent member of a well-established healthcare team.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• Review daily schedules and assist with maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and provider-requested screenings.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including documentation and charting as needed.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for laboratory testing.
• Perform telephone triage and communicate patient concerns to providers.
• Provide patients and families with instructions regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient questions professionally.
• Verify prescriptions according to physician orders.
• Request and obtain medical records, laboratory reports, imaging results, hospital documentation, and referral information.
• Complete forms, prior authorizations, and other clinical documentation as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Verify insurance information, patient demographics, and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Ensure medical records are complete, organized, and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms while following OSHA infection control guidelines.
• Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Minimum of one year of recent Medical Assistant experience in a physician office or clinic preferred. Completed externships/internships will be considered.
• Current Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required unless mandated by the employer.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and infection control practices.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office.
• CPR/BLS certification is a plus.
