Manufacturing Planner – Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience coordinating production schedules and manufacturing workflows
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project management software
- Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility, including stairs
Manufacturing Planner – Position Summary
The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for developing and coordinating production schedules to support manufacturing operations, meet customer requirements, and maximize production efficiency. This position works closely with engineering, quality, purchasing, and production teams to ensure materials, labor, equipment, and resources are properly planned and available. The Manufacturing Planner plays a key role in improving productivity, reducing waste, and supporting on-time delivery goals.
Manufacturing Planner – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Analyze customer-provided data and production requirements
- Develop and maintain production schedules
- Coordinate manufacturing processes to improve efficiency
- Ensure materials, equipment, and labor resources are available
- Monitor production workflow and adjust schedules as needed
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams
- Support on-time delivery and production goals
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Track production progress and communicate scheduling updates
- Evaluate raw material and labor requirements
- Maintain accurate planning and scheduling records
- Coordinate the production of multiple products and projects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing operations
Manufacturing Planner – Additional Qualifications
- Relevant degree preferred
- Experience with manufacturing planning, production scheduling, or supply chain coordination
- Knowledge of quality standards and engineering processes
- Experience using spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Experience prioritizing work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Ability to visually review engineering specifications and customer documentation
