Medical Assistant – Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join a busy healthcare team in Tulsa. This position will support both clinical and front office operations while providing exceptional patient care and customer service. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working directly with patients and providers in a fast-paced medical environment.
Medical Assistant – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care responsibilities including rooming patients and obtaining medical histories
- Check vital signs and perform screenings according to provider guidelines
- Assist providers with charting, procedures, and patient flow
- Administer medications and relay provider instructions to patients and families
- Answer incoming calls and assist with phone triage
- Verify prescriptions with physician orders
- Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in/check-out
- Verify insurance coverage and update patient demographics
- Obtain medical records, lab reports, referral information, and hospital documentation
- Maintain accurate patient charts and complete forms and requisitions as needed
- Support daily clinic operations and provide excellent customer service
Medical Assistant – Additional Qualifications
- Experience working in a physician office, clinic, or healthcare facility preferred
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist where needed
- Comfortable working with both clinical and administrative duties

* Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. * Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
* Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
* Keep financial records or perform other bookkeeping duties, such as handling credit or collections or mailing monthly statements to patients.
* Set up medical laboratory equipment.
* Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
* Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
* Schedule appointments for patients.
* Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
* Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
* Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
* Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
* Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
