JOB TITLE: Manager, Capacity Planning

JOB TYPE: Full-Time (40 hrs/week)
COMPENSATION: $110,000–$140,000 base salary
WORK AUTHORIZATION: U.S. citizenship required; ability to pass a background check

POSITION OVERVIEW
Lead enterprise capacity planning to ensure that IT systems, applications, and infrastructure meet current and future business demands. The Manager of Capacity Planning will analyze resource usage, forecast requirements, and optimize performance across hybrid and cloud environments. Flexibility is required to balance proactive planning with real-time problem solving.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage capacity planning processes, tools, and reporting
- Monitor system utilization and forecast future infrastructure needs
- Collaborate with IT, operations, and business units to align capacity with goals
- Identify potential bottlenecks and recommend proactive solutions
- Manage performance metrics and prepare capacity reports for leadership
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Support cloud and hybrid capacity management initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency and resource utilization
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 7 years of IT operations or capacity planning experience, with 3 years in management
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, cloud)
- Proven experience with capacity modeling, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and monitoring tools
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
- Flexibility to adapt planning to evolving business and client needs
NICE TO HAVE
- Public-sector or regulated industry experience
- ITIL or equivalent operations management certification
- Experience with automation or AIOps-based capacity planning tools
