TRC is partnered with our client in the Automotive Manufacture looking to hire a Parts Development Powertrain Transmission Buyer Specialist! ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Supplier ManagementUnderstand sourcing requirements and key milestones to support program launches.Identify, assess, and select suppliers in collaboration with Engineering and cross-functional teams.Manage supply base for assigned commodities, including preparing RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for multi-year production.Create bid packages, host bidder conferences, analyze proposals, negotiate, and recommend suppliers.Negotiate long-term agreements and achieve competitive pricing.Lead cost-reduction initiatives.Evaluate and guide supplier selections using “should-cost” models.Direct and support suppliers through the full Parts Development process from concept to end-of-life. RequiredBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or related field.High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.PreferredMinimum 2 years of related experience.Automotive industry experience in Purchasing, APQP, PPAP, Supplier Development/Engineering, Launch, Program Management, or related fields.Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, die casting, welding, assembly, paint, chroming, foaming, SMC, extrusion, and SMT.Powertrain experience (engines/transmissions) highly preferred.Experience with OEMs or major commodity suppliers.Strong understanding of piece-price analysis and cost breakdownsAbility to work effectively in multicultural environments.Adaptability, willingness to learn, and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and off-shift hours.Domestic and international travel required.
Salary : $55,000 - $100,000
