TRC is seeking an Application Engineer for our client in the Duluth, GA area. This role may be based locally or performed remotely.
The Application Engineer will support automatic stretch wrapping solutions, including standalone machines and fully integrated systems. This role partners closely with regional sales managers by providing technical expertise, developing pricing and layout documentation, and supporting projects from concept through proposal. The Application Engineer will also collaborate with internal application engineering teams and global manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical sales support to regional sales managers, including ROM pricing, budgetary quotes, firm quotes, and system layouts
- Develop layouts, pricing documentation, and project scope details for automatic stretch wrapping solutions
- Conduct joint customer site visits with sales teams to assess applications and gather technical requirements
- Maintain detailed records of all opportunities, including project documentation, revisions, and updates
- Serve as a technical liaison between U.S. operations and global manufacturing partners to ensure accurate communication of system requirements
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to support continuous improvement of stretch wrapping production lines
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of stretch wrapping equipment, applications, and industry trends
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and internal meetings as needed
- Travel domestically and internationally as required (estimated 20–40%)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales support, or a similar role within industrial automation or packaging machinery
- Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to collaborate across sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
- Experience creating technical layouts, scope documents, and pricing proposals
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and factory layout interpretation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms preferred
- Process improvement experience is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (passport required)
