About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Director of Crew Scheduling to lead and elevate crew scheduling operations for a forward-thinking aviation organization. You will guide a high-performing team, oversee complex scheduling operations, and play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency across the network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily crew scheduling activities in compliance with FAA regulations, CBAs, and company policies.
- Establish and drive strategic goals for the Crew Scheduling team.
- Identify, communicate, and escalate operational disruptions in a timely manner.
- Partner with the Director of the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) to manage irregular operations and recovery plans.
- Develop and maintain monthly staffing grids to optimize crew resources.
- Build strong working relationships with union leadership.
- Represent the company on the ALPA/AFA Grievance Review Committee.
- Support contract negotiations and analyze proposed contractual changes.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational performance.
- Maintain and update Crew Scheduling Policies and Procedures Manuals.
- Confirm monthly hotel bookings and coordinate additional accommodations as required.
- Lead the development and enhancement of crew scheduling systems, tools, and applications.
- Mentor, train, and evaluate team members to ensure high performance.
- Promote a strong customer service culture among crew members.
- Oversee scheduling and reporting system effectiveness.
- Develop pay-related procedures in coordination with Crew Pay.
- Ensure compliance with Security and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in crew scheduling or crew planning, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with crew management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Authorization to work in the United States required.
