About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced A&P Technician ready to make a real impact in the aviation industry? We’re hiring an AOG Hangar Technician in Kinston, NC. In this role, you’ll help ensure aircraft are returned to service quickly during unplanned disruptions. You’ll work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that strengthens your troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Responsibilities:
- Respond rapidly to AOG events with on-site diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Perform inspections, repairs, replacements, and maintenance per FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Use advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex aircraft system issues.
- Accurately document all maintenance actions in logs, work orders, and electronic systems.
- Collaborate with flight crews and maintenance teams to prioritize and resolve AOG situations efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace following FOD prevention guidelines.
- Support parts inventory, tool control, and readiness for immediate response.
- Participate in safety audits, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current on FAA regulations and best practices; travel up to 25% for offsite AOG support.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
- 8 years of hands-on AOG aircraft maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Solid understanding of jet and/or turboprop systems, avionics, and engines.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varied schedules.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in diverse hangar environments.
- Deep knowledge of FAA regulations, IPM, and ATA codes.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a background check.
- Safety-sensitive position requiring FAA-mandated drug and alcohol testing.
