About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of complex mechanical systems and advanced motion control solutions. This role involves product development, engineering analysis, customer collaboration, technical leadership, and project execution from concept through validation.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of innovative products while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
- Design and develop advanced electrohydraulic, electromechanical, and electropneumatic systems.
- Create innovative engineering solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Develop product requirements through collaboration with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Support the full product lifecycle from concept development through testing and production.
Engineering Analysis
- Perform stress, fatigue, and performance analysis.
- Conduct computational and analytical studies to validate design concepts.
- Apply Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methodologies.
- Evaluate system performance and reliability through engineering simulations and testing.
Project Leadership
- Lead major engineering projects and coordinate technical activities.
- Guide project teams through design, development, and validation phases.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to engineering teams.
- Support proposal development, cost estimation, and technical documentation activities.
Research, Testing & Validation
- Conduct engineering research and feasibility studies.
- Develop and execute experimental test programs.
- Analyze test data and recommend design improvements.
- Document engineering analyses, designs, and validation results.
Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.
- Present technical recommendations and design solutions to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of related mechanical engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in:
- Statics and Dynamics
- Hydraulics
- Electro-Mechanical Systems
- Stress and Fatigue Analysis
- Rotating Machinery
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
- Model-Based Design
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation abilities.
- Ability to lead complex engineering initiatives and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, motion control, or advanced industrial systems.
- Experience developing precision hydraulic and electromechanical products.
- Background in new product development and system integration.
- Experience leading engineering proposal and design review activities.
Compensation
Salary Range: $150,000 – $180,000 per year
