Staff Accountant
Location: Earth City, MO (Hybrid – 3–4 days in office)
The Staff Pad has partnered with a well-established, family-owned distributor of low-voltage electronics, to hire a Staff Accountant. This is an opportunity to join a company that is actively modernizing its operations, investing in technology, and building scalable financial processes.
This role sits at the core of the accounting function. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end close, and contributing to process improvements that impact the broader organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review daily cash activity and ensure transactions align with expectations
- Prepare and post journal entries as needed
- Support transaction processing across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory
- Assist with monthly close activities, including:
- Assist with corporate filings, sales tax returns, and compliance-related reporting
- Maintain strong knowledge of accounting practices for both book and tax purposes
- Partner with leadership on internal controls and process improvements
- Contribute to special projects and broader team initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics 365 or INFOR is a plus)
