Assistant General Manager - Fast Casual Restaurant

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join a growing fast-casual restaurant organization in Palmer, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated restaurant leader who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and is looking to grow into a General Manager role.

As the Assistant General Manager, you will partner with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, lead and develop the restaurant team, and ensure exceptional guest service, operational excellence, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

• Support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations.
• Lead the restaurant during assigned shifts, ensuring outstanding guest experiences and smooth day-to-day execution.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, safety, and hospitality.
• Ensure operational procedures and company standards are consistently followed.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members and shift leaders.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented culture built on accountability, collaboration, and guest service.
• Assist with scheduling, performance management, and ongoing employee development.
• Lead by example and motivate the team to achieve operational goals.

Financial Performance

• Assist in managing labor costs, inventory, food cost, and other controllable expenses.
• Support sales growth and profitability by driving operational efficiency.
• Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and daily reporting.
• Help monitor key performance metrics and implement action plans as needed.

Operational Excellence

• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company operating standards.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and product receiving.
• Ensure the restaurant remains clean, organized, and ready to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Support local marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts to help drive business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Shift Manager in a fast-casual or quick-service restaurant.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop teams.
• Experience managing high-volume restaurant operations.
• Knowledge of scheduling, labor management, inventory control, and guest service best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with a national fast-casual restaurant brand is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a high-volume environment.
• Passion for operational excellence and team development.
• Desire to grow into a General Manager position.

Compensation & Benefits

• $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience
