We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager / Kitchen Operations Lead to take full operational ownership of a growing Korean BBQ / AYCE restaurant. This role is responsible for stabilizing daily operations, improving kitchen execution, and building structure to support long-term scalability and potential franchise development.
This is a high-impact, build-and-lead role, working closely with ownership to reduce day-to-day dependency while elevating consistency, training, and operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Own daily restaurant operations and service execution
- Lead through peak service periods with hands-on support
- Ensure consistency in guest experience, timing, and food quality
- Enforce cleanliness, prep, and service standards
Kitchen Oversight
- Manage kitchen flow across grill, prep, and service stations
- Maintain quality control for all menu items
- Support a mixed-language kitchen team (English Mandarin/Cantonese-speaking staff preferred)
- Step into kitchen execution as needed during service
Training & Team Development
- Train, coach, and develop hourly kitchen staff
- Improve communication, workflow, and accountability
- Support hiring and onboarding efforts
Systems & Structure
- Help build SOPs and operational processes
- Improve organization, prep systems, and daily execution standards
- Support inventory tracking and basic cost awareness
- Assist in implementing scalable operational systems
Guest Experience & Growth
- Ensure strong guest satisfaction and service consistency
- Support improvements in reviews and overall reputation
- Contribute to operational readiness for expansion
Qualifications
- Experience in Korean BBQ, Asian cuisine, or high-volume BBQ/fast casual concepts preferred
- Background in high-volume, kitchen-driven restaurant operations
- Strong hands-on leadership style (not office-based management)
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Experience managing multicultural or multilingual teams preferred
- Strong training, communication, and problem-solving skills
