HR Director
Location: Windsor, CT (On-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 DOE
Employment Type: Full-time
The HR Director will serve as a key strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources, including HR operations, employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, and HR systems. This role partners closely with executive leadership and the HRVP to design and execute people strategies that support business growth, strengthen culture, and ensure regulatory compliance.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution in a fast-paced, manufacturing/distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with HRVP and senior leadership to develop and execute workforce, staffing, compensation, and retention strategies
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on organizational design, employee relations, and workforce planning
- Lead participation in quarterly talent reviews and succession planning initiatives
HR Operations & Employee Relations
- Oversee HR operations including employee relations, HR compliance, and policy administration
- Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
- Ensure consistent application of policies and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead organizational staffing strategy and oversee recruitment operations to support high-volume hiring (~30 hires/month)
- Optimize hiring processes and implement best-practice recruiting strategies in partnership with business leaders
- Partner with leadership to identify workforce gaps and develop proactive talent pipelines
Performance Management & Development
- Oversee annual performance review cycles and employee development programs
- Partner with L&D and leadership teams to support training, coaching, and professional development initiatives
- Drive accountability and consistency in performance management practices
HR Systems & Reporting
- Oversee HR technology systems and reporting tools (including Kronos, TeamTailor, emPerform, PlanSource, and FactoryFix AI platform)
- Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process optimization across HR systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of HR leadership experience managing teams
- Strong background in HR operations, employee relations, compensation, and talent acquisition
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similarly operational environments strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume recruiting and workforce planning
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience with HRIS and workforce management systems
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
