Workday Payroll Specialist – Coppell, TX

Position Overview:
The Workday Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state bi-weekly payroll for 200 employees while supporting compensation and benefits initiatives across the organization. This individual will serve as a key resource for payroll compliance, reporting, auditing, and payroll system optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for 200 employees utilizing Workday Payroll
- Ensure accurate calculation and processing of wages, overtime, taxes, deductions, and garnishments
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, timekeeping issues, and employee payroll inquiries
- Maintain payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Audit payroll records and reporting to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Partner closely with HR and leadership teams regarding compensation and payroll matters
- Support benefits administration including open enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee updates
- Assist with compensation benchmarking, salary structures, and annual merit processes
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Stay current on payroll legislation, tax updates, and compliance requirements\
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of payroll processing experience
- Hands-on Workday Payroll processing experience is required
- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll administration and payroll tax compliance
- Experience handling employee payroll inquiries and resolving discrepancies
- Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration practices
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- SHRM-CP, PHR, CPP, or related certification strongly preferred
- Experience supporting compensation reviews and benefits administration
- Familiarity with compliance regulations including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA
