Position Summary
The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader responsible for the successful execution of commercial construction projects from mobilization through closeout. This individual will oversee daily jobsite operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, ensure quality standards are met, and promote a culture of safety on every project.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with experience leading commercial projects and working collaboratively with owners, architects, engineers, and project teams. Healthcare construction experience is highly valued due to the specialized nature of many of the company's projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Conduct quality control inspections and manage punch list completion.
- Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and site logistics.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues and project challenges.
- Maintain daily reports, project documentation, and site records.
- Enforce company safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as a Superintendent, Lead Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
- Proven experience managing field operations from project startup through completion.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, safety practices, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on active construction sites.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction technology, project management software, and digital documentation tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare construction experience, including hospitals, medical office buildings, clinics, or behavioral health facilities.
- Experience working in occupied healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of infection control requirements, phased construction, and patient safety protocols.
- Familiarity with MRI, CT, imaging, equipment replacement, or specialty healthcare renovation projects.
- Experience on public-sector construction projects.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
