What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at The Encompass Group?
The Encompass Group has partnered with a growing company in the industrial/engineering solutions space to add a Controller to their team. This is a newly created role and will serve as the #2 in the accounting organization, reporting directly to the CFO.
This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on accounting and partnering strategically across a multi-entity business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead monthly and annual close processes, including income statement, balance sheet, reconciliations, and G/L analysis
- Support financial reporting across multiple divisions and collaborate with finance leaders across the organization
- Manage daily cash flow and forecast short- and long-term cash needs
- Partner with executive leadership to drive operational efficiency
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards
- Support external audits and tax preparation
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience (Controller experience preferred)
- CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
