The Encompass Group is partnering with a leading construction firm in the South Miami Area to identify a skilled Construction Superintendent.
This position is critical to ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to occupied or sensitive environments. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced settings, has a strong background in interior build-outs and phased renovations, and excels at coordinating within active facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Execution
- Manage day-to-day on-site construction activities for renovation and interior projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to maintain schedule and quality standards.
- Oversee phased construction in occupied or operational environments, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules.
Coordination in Active & Secure Environments
- Plan and execute work in facilities such as schools, airports, or other secure/institutional settings.
- Ensure compliance with site-specific security protocols and operational constraints.
- Coordinate closely with facility stakeholders, administration, and security personnel.
Schedule & Quality Management
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules and lookahead plans.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications.
- Proactively identify and resolve field issues to keep projects on track.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Conduct regular site walks and address any safety concerns.
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure job sites, especially in occupied environments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Superintendent with a focus on interior renovations and tenant improvements.
- Experience working in institutional or high-security environments (e.g., schools, airports, healthcare, government facilities).
- Strong understanding of phased construction and working in occupied spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Solid knowledge of scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field management.
- OSHA certification preferred.
