Assistant Controller
Our client is a well-established subcontractor based in Egg Harbor with multiple entities operating across the construction industry and is looking for an Assistant Controller. They have been in business for decades and are well known throughout the New Jersey and Philadelphia markets. This is an opportunity for an accounting professional looking to grow into a full Controller role. This person will serve as a trusted right hand to the CFO and executive leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage financial reporting across multiple entities
- Oversee job costing, budget tracking, and cost-to-complete analysis in collaboration with project managers
- Perform bank reconciliations and review daily banking transactions across all companies
- Manage cash flow and cash positioning across entities
- Oversee insurance renewals and 401k administration
- Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable as needed
- Liaise with outside CPAs and attorneys on financial and compliance matters
- Maintain and manage accounting software including period changes, GL account creation, and job setup
- Support the President with financial data, reporting, and operational needs on an as-needed basis
Requirements:
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated growth
- CPA (or actively pursuing) and/or public accounting background preferred
- Strong debits and credits fundamentals
- Multi-entity experience preferred
- Job costing, bank transactions, reconciliations, and month-end close experience required
- Stable tenure throughout work history
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary is dependent on experience ($90k-120k)
- Health insurance and 401k

- Includes year end bonus
Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
