Summary
The Ash Group is hiring a Project Controls Specialist for our client (a major electricity and natural gas utility provider). This is a Hybrid 12-month contract role based in Minneapolis, MN, offering a pay rate of $56.00 per hour. This role functions as an expert-level scheduler responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle scheduling of large-scale renewable energy capital projects, including wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Role Details
- Compensation: $56.00 per hour.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Create and maintain complex, comprehensive project schedules for multi-million to billion-dollar capital projects using Primavera P6.
- Orchestrate schedule updates across multiple departments, including land rights, permitting, engineering, and supply chain, to ensure total lifecycle accuracy.
- Manage scheduling for a diverse portfolio of strategic projects, such as Blue BESS, Elk Creek Solar, and Sherco.
- Perform advanced project control activities, including generating detailed cost tracking reports and responding to data requests for project forecasting.
- Conduct weekly and monthly reviews of expenditures with Project Managers to maintain accurate forecasting and variance analysis.
- Utilize SAP Work and Asset Management and advanced Excel to monitor project health and dependencies.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 10 years of dedicated scheduling experience specifically supporting large-scale, complex projects.
- Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory (P6 certification is highly preferred). Candidates must provide a redacted sample P6 schedule (PDF) for evaluation.
- Industry Background: Previous experience in the Utility industry is strongly preferred; however, transferable industrial or construction scheduling backgrounds are acceptable.
- Systems: Strong knowledge of SAP, SharePoint, and advanced MS Excel functions.
