SAP Project Planner
Summary
The Ash Group is seeking an SAP Project Planner to support the Energy Supply group of a Fortune 500 utility company. This role focuses on project support activities within SAP, including work order and requisition management, project tracking, and financial coordination. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

- Duration: 12-month contract with high likelihood of extension or conversion.
- Location: Hybrid role, onsite in Minneapolis, MN; (1–2 days in office per week required).
Duties
- Create and manage SAP work orders, purchase requisitions, and non-work order PRs for engineers.
- Monitor and resolve issues on key project metric reports (inactive projects and missing completes) in collaboration with project leads.
- Generate or request WBS elements using the MDO (Master Data Online) tool to support project setup.
- Partner with finance, accounting, capital asset accounting, supply chain, and project teams to ensure project compliance and accuracy.
- Provide hands-on SAP support, troubleshoot issues, and apply critical analysis to resolve non-standard project challenges.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables), Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong critical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to engage across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy.
- Minimum 1 year of project support or equivalent professional work experience; entry-level candidates with strong analytical skills will be considered.
- SAP, MDO, and PowerPlan experience preferred but not required.
