Summary
The Ash Group is hiring a critical Switch Analyst (Distribution Operations Coordinator) for our client (a major electricity and natural gas utility provider) based onsite in Minneapolis, MN.
This essential role requires 5 years of direct experience as a Lineman/Troubleman and familiarity with the distribution electrical system. You will be responsible for the full process of generating, coordinating, and scheduling detailed switching procedures for the control center to ensure safe and efficient power operations.
Role Details
- Compensation: Competitive pay rate of $68 per hour.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Serve as the Distribution Operations Coordinator, responsible for writing, reviewing, and scheduling complex switching procedures/plans.
- Work directly with the control center and internal teams to coordinate and finalize switch plans, ensuring all necessary approvals are secured.
- Manage the daily workflow of switch plans, preparing them for upcoming half-day periods and addressing follow-up questions from the control center.
- Collaborate closely with a team of six to maintain high operational efficiency and adhere to safety protocols.
- Utilize expertise gained from prior Lineman/Troubleman experience to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of all switching documents.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in the field as a Lineman, Troubleman, or related distribution electrical system role.
- Mandatory familiarity with distribution electrical systems and the operational knowledge required to write accurate switching procedures.
- Proven experience in coordinating, scheduling, and working well with others in a high-stakes, operational environment.
- Experience with Oracle NMS (Network Management System) is a valuable plus.
