The primary purpose of this position is to serve in the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) Engineering Directorate (EN) and directly contribution to delivering exceptional engineering solutions that enhance AF readiness and effectiveness through innovation, advanced technology, and a highly skilled workforce to contribute to mission success with cutting edge capabilities, a collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Science & Engineering (S&E)
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance as a condition of employment
- Could be subject to random testing for drug use
- Periodic travel for temporary duty (TDY) may be needed to support workload
- Designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP)
- Employee must meet the education and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions (Master's degree preferred.

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Oversight will include EN workloads such as manpower and personnel (M&P), civilian development, and technology transfer and transition (T3), applying critical thinking to independently interpret and align processes with policy and higher guidance, develop actionable courses of action, and strategically support and engage the S&E workforce and organizations across AFSC.
- M&P oversight includes conducting data analysis for workforce initiatives and evaluating personnel actions in detail for specialized experience, degree qualifications, and to ensure proper organizational alignment across the S&E workforce. Civilian development manages functional training, education, and award programs and develops and leverages platforms for career path progression, mentoring, and leadership development for the civilian S&E enterprise.
- T3 oversight includes facilitating internal and external partnership mechanisms including educational partnership agreements (EPAs), corporate research and development agreements (CRADAs), information transfer agreements (ITAs), and patents as well as EPA capstones, equipment loans, and academic initiatives in close collaboration with the DAFT3 office, legal teams, academia, and industry partners.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills are required, along with the ability to operate independently, collaborate effectively within a team, and engage with geographically distributed, cross-functional personnel and teams.
