Civil Designer/Project Designer – Land Development

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Designer/Project Designer – Land Development to lead and manage residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects from planning through construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land development, project management, and client coordination, with the ability to oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage land development projects from entitlement through design and construction.
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Oversee site development activities, including grading, drainage, utility, and roadway design coordination.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular project status updates to stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and project staff.
- Foster strong client relationships and support business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of experience managing land development projects.
- Proven experience with residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong understanding of site development, grading, drainage, utilities, permitting, and entitlement processes.
- Experience working with local agencies and municipalities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong client-facing and team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of California land development regulations and entitlement processes.
