We are seeking an Emerging & Disruptive Technologies Analyst to research, assess, and analyze Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT) and their potential impact on current and future military capabilities.
The role combines technology research, defence innovation, Science & Technology (S&T), technology assessment, strategic foresight, capability development, and technology adoption.
Security Clearance: Active Secret-level security clearance required
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research, assess, and catalogue Emerging & Disruptive Technologies (EDT).
- Research and interpret Science & Technology (S&T) information from defence research organizations, academia, industry, government, and other relevant sources.
- Assess the potential military applications, opportunities, risks, and implications of emerging technologies.
- Identify capability shortfalls that could benefit from emerging technology adoption.
- Develop practical use cases and technology adoption pathways for current and future operational challenges.
- Support technology experimentation, capability development, strategic foresight, and defence planning.
- Contribute to concept development, requirements analysis, experimentation, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA).
- Provide research-based advice and briefings to senior defence and technical stakeholders.
- Maintain and organize EDT knowledge bases, research findings, technology maturity, and adoption information.
- Collaborate with national and international defence, S&T, academic, and innovation stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information & Communication Technology, Engineering, or a closely related scientific/technical discipline, with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, 6 years of extensive and progressive relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and consolidation of research and technology information.
- Experience with Emerging & Disruptive Technologies, Emerging Technology, Defence Technology, S&T, Technology Assessment, or Defence Innovation.
- Knowledge of relevant S&T information sources, including defence research laboratories, academic institutions, government organizations, and industry.
- Experience evaluating future technologies and their potential military applications.
- Ability to analyze EDT documentation, identify technology adoption pathways, and develop practical applications for military environments.
- Strong research, analytical, communication, presentation, and information-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based research tools.
