Primary Purpose:
Assist the Director of Technology Support Services to effectively manage the Support Service staff, coordinate computing support services for the district, as well as, ongoing projects such as new construction and existing construction retrofits. Ensure efficient and effective access to information and related technology by all campuses and administrative departments.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required; directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree (required)

Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of computer networks, infrastructure, hardware, and software applications

Experience:
- One year of experience in supervision and management of computing systems and personnel within a technology department (preferred) or other management experience.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technology and Information Management
1. Assist schools and administrative departments with technology needs.
2. Support and implement district standards and specifications for hardware and software.
3. Coordinate support between vendors and service organizations and district staff.
4. Manage, direct, and assign priorities and personnel to projects to ensure the attainment of the district and department goals and objectives.
5. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all computer hardware and software throughout the district.
6. Make presentations as needed.
7. Help coordinate a continuing evaluation of information and technology services and implement changes as directed.
Policy, Reports, and Law
8. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of information management and technology.
9. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
Inventory
10. Participate in contract negotiations for computer hardware, software, maintenance, and related services as needed.
11. Coordinate the deployment and inventory of all computer hardware, software, and supplies.
12. Help maintain the district’s inventory system current and up to date.
13. Recommend the disposal and replacement of obsolete equipment when necessary.
Personnel Management
14. Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operations in the technology support area.
15. Evaluate the job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness.
16. Train and supervise personnel and make sound recommendations relative to personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal.
Other
17. Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in information management and technology services.
18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology Support Services.
19. Respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate the performance of all assigned technology department personnel.

Frequent district-wide travel. Repetitive hand motions and the prolonged use of computer equipment will be required. Lifting and moving heavy equipment; stooping, bending, and kneeling may be required. Additionally, occasional prolonged and irregular hours may be required.
