Job Description
Title: Instructional Technologist
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and teacher certification.
- Three years teaching experience.
- Excellent pedagogy and classroom management skills.
- Excels in the use of iPad and MacBook as a device and a classroom learning tool.
- Experience designing and delivering technology training that meets the needs of teachers.
- Experience in developing integrated technology projects with students and teachers.
- Proficient in multimedia concepts and apps.
- Awareness of ethical issues related to the use of information technologies
- Strong communication, professional, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent customer service philosophy and skills.
- Experience with adult learners.
- Proactively seeks out innovative technologies and ideas to enhance the experiences of students and teachers alike.
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and experiment with new approaches.
Reports To: Director of Instructional Technology
Performance Responsibilities:
- Supports teachers in the implementation of the district’s curriculum and technology integration initiatives.
- Champions the ISTE standards for students and teachers.
- Works with teachers to incorporate the 4 C’s of 21st century learning (Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) into the curriculum.
- Facilitates use of the computers and electronic resources in the elementary and middle schools.
- Works with teachers to develop integrated instructional lessons and units using technology.
- Uses coaching to support the individual needs of teachers.
- Supports the setup and implementation of Learning Management Systems.
- Serves as a trainer for instructional technology programs.
- Develops technology integration training and trains teachers and staff accordingly.
- Facilitates the circulation of district-based equipment.
Terms of Employment: 236 day contract.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually
in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy
on Evaluation of Teaching Personnel.
