School Summary: TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School (TECCA CMVS) is a full-time tuition-free virtual public school district that employs over 200 faculty and staff, and serve 3,000 students across grades K-12 across Massachusetts. TECCA opened for the 2014–15 school year with approval by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Location Assignment:
As a new hire, you are required to work a minimum of 2 (two) days per week for the first ninety school days of employment at the TECCA main office located at 141 Mansion Dr. East Walpole, MA. After successful completion of the first 90 days, remote work may be added.
Position Summary
The K-12 Instructional Coach plays a key role in supporting teachers in enhancing student learning through high-quality live lessons and other instructional practices. This position is designed to provide targeted, job-embedded professional development both virtually and in-person to educators through instructional coaching cycles, collaborative planning, and professional development opportunities.
The Instructional Coach will work closely with assigned teachers, ensuring that each participates in at least one full coaching cycle, while also serving as a resource for those who seek additional instructional support. Additionally, school or district administrators may call upon the Instructional Coach to provide targeted support for teachers who are demonstrating instructional challenges.
The Instructional Coach will support professional development at the school and district level including the onboarding of new staff members throughout the school year. The Instructional Coach will also assist in the administration of MCAS testing
across the district, ensuring smooth implementation and compliance with state guidelines.
Responsibilities
Instructional Coaching & Teacher Support
-Collaborate with teachers to enhance instructional practices through structured coaching cycles.
-Provide individualized and small-group support to teachers focused on improving student engagement and learning outcomes.
-Utilize research-based instructional strategies to support high-quality teaching in live lessons and other instructional settings.
-Offer classroom observations, co-teaching opportunities, and feedback to support continuous improvement.
-Assist teachers in using data to inform instructional decisions and differentiate instruction for diverse student needs.
-Identify and share best practices for virtual and blended learning environments in a variety of professional development capacities.
-Provide targeted support for teachers identified by school or district leadership as needing additional instructional assistance.
-Support district leadership with conducting observations for all non PTS staff.
-Support the onboarding of new staff throughout the school year.
-Assist with the administration of MCAS testing across the district, ensuring compliance with state and district policies.
Professional Learning & Collaboration
-Participate in weekly Instructional Coaching team meetings to align coaching practices and explore new instructional strategies.
-Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in instruction, assessment, and educational technology.
-Work collaboratively with school and district leadership to support instructional priorities.
-Contribute to the development of professional learning sessions, workshops, and resources for teachers.
-Attend an annual instructional coaching conference to continue to develop the instructional coaching program at TECCA (the 2026 conference is in Dallas from October Oct.26-28.)
Additional Support & Program Development
-Serve as an additional layer of instructional support for teachers who may benefit from or request assistance.
-Support district initiatives related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
-Maintain documentation of coaching cycles and teacher support efforts.
-Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Instruction & Testing.
Salary : $52,359 - $101,385
