Professional Liability Associate (2 years) | NY & NJ
We are working with a highly regarded, growth-oriented law firm seeking Professional Liability Associates to join its expanding team in New York and New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-exposure matters alongside experienced litigators in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The firm is experiencing strong demand in this practice area and is actively looking to add multiple associates who are eager to develop or deepen their expertise in professional liability defense.
- Work on complex professional liability matters (legal malpractice, accounting, and other professional services)
- Join a busy and growing practice with consistent workflow
- Strong mentorship and hands-on training, especially for NY or NJ-based candidates transitioning from general litigation
- Opportunity for meaningful responsibility early on, including court exposure and client interaction
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and depositions
- Assist in the defense of professional liability claims and related commercial disputes
- Draft and argue motions, prepare case strategy, and support trial preparation
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and client updates
- Work closely with partners and clients on case development and risk assessment
- 2 years of litigation experience
- Admission to practice in New York and/or New Jersey
- Experience in professional liability, insurance defense, or commercial litigation preferred
- For NJ candidates: strong civil litigation experience with an interest in transitioning into professional liability (training provided)
- Associates looking to specialize in professional liability at a firm with strong deal flow
