Overview
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead the company’s Accounting and Finance functions. This individual will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls while partnering closely with executive leadership to support business growth and operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a blend of technical accounting expertise, financial analysis capabilities, and operational finance experience. This role requires someone who can operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes
Finance & Operational Support
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Develop financial models, KPI reporting, and variance analysis to support business decisions
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management
- Partner with department leaders to analyze financial performance and operational trends
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership
- Support long-term financial planning and growth initiatives
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage and mentor accounting and finance team members
- Establish performance expectations and support employee development
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across finance and accounting functions
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required
- 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Finance leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience overseeing both accounting and finance functions
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a multi-entity or high-growth environment
- Background supporting executive leadership and operational teams
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Prior exposure to process improvement and system implementations
