About the Role:
The Masker is responsible for preparing precision metal components for coating by applying masking materials accurately and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that painted and finished surfaces meet strict quality standards by protecting designated areas prior to coating. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced metal finishing facility where accuracy and consistency are essential.
Responsibilities:
Apply masking tape, plugs, caps, and other protective materials to metal parts according to work orders and specifications.
Carefully tape and mask designated areas to ensure compliance with blueprint and finish requirements.
Inspect parts for cleanliness and proper surface preparation prior to masking.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions to ensure accuracy.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding workflow and production status.
Assist with packaging, handling, and other production support tasks as needed.
Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.
Support overtime and weekend production requirements as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
Strong organizational skills and ability to follow precise instructions.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production teams.
Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
