Responsibilities:
- Draft and analyze deeds, agreements, powers of attorney, title reports, and other documents related to real estate transactions and settlements.
- Advise real estate agents and their clients on legal matters, representing the title company throughout the settlement process.
- Review land records to ensure accurate and clear property ownership documentation.
- Assist in resolving title claims and other legal issues that may arise during settlement processes.
- Engage in internal and external communications to facilitate smooth settlement experiences for all parties involved.
Must-Have Skills:
- Active license to practice law in Maryland.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate settlement or title review (will consider hiring more junior or at the senior level)
- Expertise in preparing and reviewing real estate legal documents.
- Demonstrated ability to provide legal counsel to clients and real estate professionals.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with trust documents and powers of attorney in real estate contexts.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
