Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting, accounting, and consolidation of financial data from portfolio companies for corporate reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and real estate financial standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation for portfolio company consolidation.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with asset management and operations teams to provide financial insights and analysis.
- Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and treasury functions.
- Oversee owner reporting, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Enhance accounting software and technology solutions to improve efficiency.
- Manage accounting and reporting interactions with portfolio companies.
- Supervise accounts payable and expense management processes for the parent company.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Strong with Appfolio nd QuickBooks
- Over 15 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in real estate (multi-family).
- Deep expertise in GAAP, real estate tax structures, and financial reporting standards.
- Hands-on experience with property management accounting software (Sage Intact, Yardi, RealPage, or similar).
- Proven leadership abilities in managing accounting teams.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented setting.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- CPA certification.
- Over 5 years of multifamily real estate accounting experience.
- Familiarity with Sage Intact or advanced property management software.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional asset management teams.
- Background in implementing new accounting technology solutions.
