About The Company / The Opportunity:

This role offers the chance to own the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of a feed mill, driving performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction through strategic alignment of operations and commercial goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall operational leadership for the feed mill, managing production, maintenance, and logistics resources while ensuring safety, quality, reliability, and cost control.
- Lead a high‑performing site organization, building accountability for safety, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.
- Integrate commercial priorities with operational capabilities to align inventory, capacity, and shipment execution for optimal asset utilization and margin performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, yield, uptime, labor efficiency, and cost per ton using data‑driven decision making.
- Own site‑level P&L, managing cost drivers, budgeting, forecasting, and translating financial performance into actionable operational enhancements.
- Coordinate with third‑party logistics partners, railroads, and truck carriers to ensure efficient product movement and service levels.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong knowledge of FDA, FSMA, and HACCP regulations for feed and grain manufacturing.
- Proven ability to manage P&L, budgeting, and cost control in a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience in logistics, inventory management, and grain/feed supply chain coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership in building high‑performing teams with a focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Data‑driven decision‑making skills to identify bottlenecks and drive operational efficiencies.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience as Plant Manager, Site Manager, or General Manager in feed or grain facilities.
- Hands‑on experience with throughput optimization, yield management, and energy or maintenance cost control.
- Familiarity with working closely with traders, merchandisers, and sales teams to align commercial and operational objectives.
- Experience implementing advanced quality assurance programs and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Strong communication skills for translating operational realities to non‑technical stakeholders.
