Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality medical care for small animals, pocket pets, and exotics, including wellness exams, preventative medicine, and sick care.
- Perform general surgery and dental procedures with a focus on patient safety and clinical outcomes.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic imaging and in-house laboratory tools for accurate assessment and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with a skilled support staff and experienced DVM team in a 3:1 technician-to-doctor environment.
- Provide clear communication and compassionate education to pet owners regarding treatment options and ongoing care.
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Engage in the hospital’s culture of mentorship, continuing education, and commitment to the highest standard of medicine.
- Uphold the reputation of the hospital through professionalism, empathy, and dedication to exceptional client experiences.
Must-Have Skills:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an AVMA accredited university, or equivalent; license to practice in Pennsylvania (or eligibility).
- Experience or strong interest in small animal wellness, preventive care, and companion animal medicine.
- Competence or willingness to develop skills in general surgery and dentistry procedures.
- Commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to patient care.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience treating pocket pets and exotics.
- Proficiency with advanced diagnostic imaging equipment (ultrasound, endoscopy, otoscopy).
- Interest in dental radiography and advanced dental procedures.
- Mentorship or leadership experience within a clinical team.
- Previous experience working with an in-house laboratory and digital X-ray systems.
