About the Role
We are hiring for one of our clients seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Journeyman to support mechanical maintenance operations at an industrial cement manufacturing facility.
This role focuses on the installation, repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment while maintaining strict safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance work safely and in accordance with plant safety procedures
- Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical issues to determine appropriate corrective actions
- Complete repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems
- Maintain environmental control equipment such as dust collection systems
- Report equipment conditions that may impact product quality or operational efficiency
- Perform rigging and hoisting of heavy loads using approved tools and techniques
- Lubricate bearings, gearboxes, and mechanical components
- Work effectively in confined or hard-to-access areas
- Support and guide other maintenance personnel as needed
- Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment
Licensing
- Valid Mechanical Journeyman License (as required by applicable regulations)
Additional Requirements
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency call-outs, including nights and weekends
- Ability to safely use required personal protective equipment, with reasonable accommodations provided in accordance with applicable laws
