Overview
The firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys throughout the full lifecycle of litigation matters, from case inception through discovery, trial, post-trial proceedings, and case closure. This role requires strong technical proficiency, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while providing best-in-class client service. Experience with employment and wage & hour litigation is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned litigation cases from initiation through conclusion, maintaining ownership of tasks, deadlines, and workflow.
- Assist with client document collection, organization, and witness interviews.
- Support attorneys in preparing, propounding, and responding to discovery requests; conduct document review and coordinate production.
- Maintain and update case files, discovery logs, and trial materials across all phases of case management.
- Prepare detailed and complex wage & hour analyses in Excel, including use of formulas and pivot tables.
- Provide deposition and trial preparation support, including digesting transcripts, organizing exhibits, coordinating logistics, and assisting at trial as needed.
- Work with the Litigation Support team to ensure proper collection, review, and management of electronic files consistent with firm standards.
- Prepare, cite-check, and proofread filings; handle e-filing in state and federal courts.
- Assist attorneys with post-trial filings, motions, and case closure tasks.
- Work overtime as required based on case demands.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of substantive litigation paralegal experience, including trial support.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
- Experience with e-filing in both state and federal courts.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full litigation lifecycle, including case management, document review, and trial assistance.
- Proficiency with e-discovery and litigation support platforms, such as CaseMap, Ipro, and Relativity.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including:
- Word: styles, macros, TOCs/TOAs
- Excel: pivot tables, formulas, data analysis
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Superior client service and sound judgment; strong team collaboration skills.
- Must meet California Business & Professions Code §6450 requirements; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
